Musical Story
Chen Sim Cheng, a pianist and educator, discovered their love for music at 6 and flourished through nine years of intensive study and works as collaborative pianist in Birmingham, UK. Chen now serves as the Musician in Residence at Marlborough College Malaysia, dedicating themselves to nurturing young talents in their hometown.
With a Master of Music from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, mentored by luminaries like Alasdair Beatson, Margaret Fingerhut, and Anthony Hewitt, Chen's repertoire spans Beethoven to Prokofiev sonatas, diverse etudes, and collaborative performances. Beyond performance, Chen delves into traditional piano techniques, enhancing their playing and understanding of complex compositions.
Attending masterclasses with renowned pianists like Simon Callaghan, Toms Ostrovskis, and Klaus Sticken, Gabriele Baldocci, Chen has graced prestigious venues such as London's Putney Methodist Church, Royal Albert Hall Elgar's Room and Birmingham's Bradshaw Hall, showcasing a diverse repertoire.
Passionate about music and dedicated to cultivating talent, Chen Sim Cheng continues to make a powerful impact on classical piano, both as a performer and educator.
